We are delighted to share that AET’s landmark contract signing ceremony with energy major Statoil ASA for the ownership and operation of two new dynamic positioning two (DP2) shuttle tankers was featured on Tradewinds on Wednesday, 30 August.
The official event, hosted by Statoil at the Statoil Guest House in Stavanger, Norway, was graced by AET Chairman and MISC President/Group CEO, Mr Yee Yang Chien, AET President & CEO, Capt. Rajalingam Subramaniam, Statoil ASA Executive Vice President, Marketing, Midstream and Processing, Mr Jens Økland, Statoil ASA Senior Vice President, Asset Management in Marketing, Midstream and Processing, Mrs Grete Birgitte Haaland, Statoil ASA Vice President, Shipping, Ship Technology and Vetting, Mr Kjetil Johnsen, Arendals Dampskibsselskab AS (ADS) Managing Director, Mr Terje Bodin Larsen, OSM Maritime Group Chairman, Mr Bjørn Tore Larsen, and other senior level dignitaries from AET, Statoil, ADS and OSM.
The two newbuilds, the world’s first in waters DPSTs with LNG dual-fuel propulsion, will be on long-term charter with Statoil and will operate in oilfields in the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and southern Barents Sea. The first vessel will be delivered in 2019, followed by the second the following year. They will join our existing two DP2 shuttle tankers, Eagle Bergen and Eagle Barents, which are also on charter with Statoil.
OSM Maritime Group will provide the lead technical management for the two vessels during their construction at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard, South Korea.
