Chartering

The Chartering department, operating from London, Houston and Singapore, provides one of the main commercial interfaces between AET and our customers. Dedicated to providing a high quality service, this team works with customers and partners to employ the fleet on a mix of period and spot business and to arrange longer term contracts of affreightment (COA).

In London, the team specialises in the commercial employment of the global VLCC fleet, our MR2 vessels and the northwest Europe aframax fleet. Singapore supports many COAs, part of the clean product fleet and the Asian aframax vessels. The US Gulf lightering operations and American aframax spot business are handled from Houston.

Although geographically dispersed, the three teams work together to provide customers with a global solution, coupled with a local service.

Operations

The specialist, in-house Operations team also works from London, Houston and Singapore, in tandem with Chartering, to ensure that all voyages are executed on-time, in safety and in line with the charter party agreements with our customers.
 
The members of the Operations team have many years of sea-going and shore-based experience within the tanker industry and bring valuable first hand knowledge of vessel types, voyage routings, load and discharge ports, terminals, brokers, agents, bunker-suppliers, inspectors, port restrictions and other local contacts.  This allows us to give direct personal attention to operational detail, which contributes to the enviable record of on-time performance.
 
Members of Operations work closely with customers to make sure that the most appropriate vessel is available for each voyage and to manage the details of Voyage Orders, resolving any issues that arise.
