AET awarded Tanker Owner/Operator of the Year at the Lloyd’s List Global Awards 2018

Against stiff competition from fellow well-established, reputable and formidable competitors in the industry, we are pleased to announce that AET Group has won the Tanker Operator of the Year at the 2018 Lloyd’s List Global Awards on Tuesday, 11 December, held at the Hilton Park Lane, London. Global Director VLCC & Shuttle Tanker Crude Shipping, John Baptist, accepted the award on behalf of AET, in a resounding applause from fellow industry players and maritime partners.

For more than 20 years, this prestigious award gala has been held once annually where key global maritime influencers gather annually at this gala award to celebrate and give recognition to exemplary organisations for generating innovative ideas and concepts that have pushed the boundaries of what is possible today, inspiring a brighter future of global shipping. This recognition is a first for AET as a Petroleum tanker owner and operator on an international stage, and attributes it to the dedication, passion and perseverance from our staff both at sea and shore.

As a responsible tanker owner and operator, AET has mapped, evaluated and implemented means for ensuring a long-term financial and operational sustainability in all our operations such as our pioneering LNG dual fuel system aboard our Aframax and DPST newbuilds, asset rejuvenation of our vessels, investments in our employee development and HSE and Operational Excellence initiatives, among others.

Commenting on the award AET President & CEO, Capt. Rajalingam Subramaniam, said, “Our team has worked to turn challenges buffeting the market into opportunities to demonstrate leadership for the benefit of our peers and the communities we serve and I am honoured and humbled to see that leading industry experts recognise our team effort in continuously providing better maritime solutions and services in an environmentally friendly manner as a responsible shipowner.”
