AET President & CEO ranks 8th as industry leader

We are proud to share our President & CEO Capt. Rajalingam Subramaniam has ranked 8th in Tanker Shipping & Trade’s Industry Leaders special. This is Capt. Raja’s second consecutive appearance in the annual listing of the top 50 most influential people who have led, shaped and contributed most significantly to the tanker industry in the past year.

This is Tanker Shipping & Trade’s fourth edition special, which comprises of a series of profiles and interviews. Editor Edwin Lampert notes that “…this year’s list of leaders attest to the fact that while technology is crucial to our trade, it does not totally displace the human element: the intuition, that instinctive feel that sets apart the pioneers, the trendsetters, and others at the forefront of the industry.”

The feature highlights Capt. Raja’s significant enhancements to AET’s organisation, fleet and over-arching strategy during his first year of stewardship in the company. Expounding on our latest milestones including refreshing our vision and mission and taking ownership of the Chemical Business Unit from parent company MISC, Capt. Raja believes these, and other internal changes strengthen the organisation and ensure it is well-buffered from market fluctuation.

“Working alongside our customers and shareholders, we will continue to innovate and re-engineer our business and operations over the coming year, to ensure the services we deliver remain relevant to the evolving landscape and our customer and stakeholders’ changing needs. We have and will always pay critical attention to maintaining the highest level of service provision and remain firmly committed to setting new industry benchmarks for safe and responsible operations”, he says.

Also featured in the article is our MISC Group’s Senior General Manager of Fleet Management Services Capt. Raja Sager; recognised for championing tanker safety.
