Our US colleagues joined Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG)’s second annual Homeward Bound sail on 24 July 2025, a tradition revived last year after an 18-year pause, marking the cadets’ return from their summer sea term.
This year’s sail was especially meaningful as it was the final voyage of the TS Kennedy, a training vessel that has served generations of seafarers since 1964. Over the summer, the cadets sailed to New York City, Belfast, Halifax and Portland before returning to Houston, and it was inspiring to hear about their experiences at sea.
We were especially proud to welcome back our AET scholarship cadets and share this milestone with their families and friends. We look forward to seeing where their journeys take them next!
