Supporting Communities
We are committed to making a positive impact on society and our local communities across the world. In addition to continuing and extending our scholarship programmes to drive interest and develop talent in the maritime industry, our employees also volunteered to support community initiatives. In 2024, we collectively volunteered 1,292 hours in the communities that we operate in.

Focus Story: Partnering with TAMUG to Empower Future Mariners
We signed a two-year MOU with Texas A&M University at Galveston, marking the first formal corporate agreement focused on providing scholarships to students at the Galveston Campus. This builds on our partnership with TAMUG, established in 2021, and reflects our shared commitment to advancing maritime education.

Focus Story: Fueling Recovery After Hurricane Beryl
When Hurricane Beryl hit the US Gulf Coast in July 2024, we mobilised quickly to support affected communities. Nineteen volunteers from our US offices packed over 1,800kg of fresh produce at Target Hunger, while AET also donated food, hygiene products, and laptops—helping deliver around 18,000 meals to families in need.

Focus Story: AET & GBF Partner on Environmental Conservation Project
AET has partnered with the Galveston Bay Foundation to restore the Chocolate Bay Preserve in Texas. As part of the effort, we led repairs to a damaged water control structure, helping to restore ecological balance and support long-term carbon sequestration.
