AET exhibited at the 2026 Maritime Youth Forum, held on 5 February, joining students and industry peers for this annual initiative led by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), organised in collaboration with student leaders from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP).

The event welcomed 357 participants - including 249 students - creating a vibrant space for dialogue, networking and exploration of career pathways within the maritime sector.

Engaging the Next Generation

At AET’s career booth, students explored internship opportunities and long-term career pathways within the organisation. A significant area of interest was the industry’s transition towards net-zero emissions.

Discussions centered on decarbonisation strategies, dual-fuel vessel technology, digitalisation and sustainable operations. Students were eager to understand how they could contribute to the sector’s transformation while building future-ready careers.

Distinguished Guests at the AET Booth

AET was honoured to welcome Mr Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State for the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, as well as Mr Hor Weng Yew, Chairman of the Singapore Maritime Foundation, to our booth. Their visit underscored the importance of strong connections between industry leaders and aspiring maritime professionals.

A Platform for Dialogue: “The Future of Shipping for the Next Generation”

A key highlight was the student-moderated panel, “The Future of Shipping for the Next Generation,” exploring digitalisation, AI adoption, sustainability, and how young people can seize emerging pathways to build future-ready maritime careers.
