Captain Piotr Sopala, Master of Eagle Colombo, received the Shell Goal Zero Hero Award on 20 August 2026 for identifying and proactively reporting a potential hazard. His prompt intervention helped prevent the situation from developing into a more serious incident.
Shell’s Goal Zero Hero programme recognises individuals who have the courage to intervene when they identify unsafe work conditions and hazards, supporting the objective of achieving no harm and leaks.
