President & CEO Message
The past two months have been a reminder of how quickly conditions can change. Recent developments across parts of the Middle East have added further pressure to global trade and energy markets, reinforcing the reality that our industry continues to operate in a highly complex, unpredictable and fast-moving environment.
We are closely monitoring developments in the Persian Gulf, and the safety and security of our seafarers, vessels and cargoes caught up remain our highest priority. We operate under established security and operational protocols across our fleet, and remain in close coordination with our seafarers, customers, partners and relevant authorities.
March also marked one year since I took on the role of President & CEO. It has been a year that has tested many of the assumptions we make about how this industry operates, with shifts across geopolitics, trade flows, regulation and technology. Change is not new to this industry, but the pace and overlap of it is.
Navigating volatility and uncertainty places greater emphasis on how we operate. Leadership in this business is earned every day, through the decisions we make, the standards we uphold, and the trust we build with our customers, partners and our people.
For AET, that translates into a clear focus. Operating safely. Delivering reliably, driving decarbonisation and making decisions that keep our fleet competitive over the long term.
You will see that reflected in this edition.
Over the past two months, our amazing people having been very active including targeted investments in retrofits to improve vessel efficiency, continued progress on lower-emission fuels through our Bio-LNG trial, and ongoing engagement with customers and partners.
Over the past week, we have also engaged actively across industry platforms, including Singapore Maritime Week, contributing to discussions on how the sector continues to move forward amid regulatory and market uncertainty.
We also continue to support initiatives that improve seafarer welfare, an area at the core of our industry and one I remain closely committed to.
Across these developments, a common thread emerges: our ability to adapt, innovate, and move forward, #deliveringProgress together.
Thank you to the very many of you involved in working with us to support and inspire our journey.
Best Regards,
Nick Potter
AET President & CEO
