CEO Message
Our business at its best, is about people and partnerships. Safety is where we begin, and customer focus is how we deliver.
In June, the Chamber of Shipping of America Safety recognised 48 of our vessels with the Jones F. Devlin Award for their safety performance. The crew of Eagle Paraiba earned a commendation for their swift response in assisting a vessel in distress. These honours show the professionalism and judgement that our people exercise every day, and they reinforce the trust our customers place in AET to deliver safely.
In July, our Mooring Masters advanced their readiness through simulator training for deep water subsea blowout scenarios – among the most complex and challenging scenarios in our industry. They demonstrated our ability to manage risk in demanding environments and giving customers confidence that we stand ready for the unexpected.
Progress happens faster when we work together. I recently had the privilege of hosting Mr Ang Wee Keong, the new Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, at our headquarters. We spoke about future fuels, digital innovation, and maritime talent — areas where collaboration can accelerate progress and strengthen our ecosystem, ensuring the industry is ready for what comes next.
Our people also showed care beyond business. In recent weeks, colleagues championed seafarers’ welfare, helped preserve maritime heritage, and across our worldwide offices bonded as teams while assembling StudentBuddy solar devices for families without reliable electricity. These acts, big and small, show how we strive to make a positive difference in the communities we operate in.
As we look ahead, our focus remains clear: to deliver safely, and reliably, with solutions shaped around our customers and the partnerships that carry us forward.
Honouring Excellence: AET Recognised for Commitment to Maritime Safety Standards
On 17 June 2025, AET participated in the 57th Annual Safety Awards Luncheon hosted by the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This year, the crew of Eagle Paraiba was honoured with a Letter of Commendation, recognising the courage and professionalism of our crew in upholding the highest tradition of the sea – to aid those in peril.
They were commended for their swift response to a Mayday call, assisting a distressed vessel that was dead in the water, helping to restore power and navigate it to the closest port.
In addition, 48 of our vessels were also awarded the Jones F. Devlin Award for Safety, a testament to our safety excellence across our fleet.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all our colleagues who play a part in upholding a strong safety culture across our operations.

AET Mooring Masters Sharpen Skills in SVS Simulator Training
Our Mooring Masters recently took part in a high-intensity Storage Vessel Solution (SVS) simulator training at The Seamen’s Church Institute (SCI), focusing on one of the most demanding emergency scenarios offshore: responding to deepwater subsea blowouts.
An SVS operation requires precise coordination between a dynamically positioned Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), an Aframax Storage Vessel held in place by three tugs, and a service vessel connected in tandem for cargo transfer — all in challenging offshore environments where the margin for error is razor thin.
During the exercise, our Mooring Masters tackled complex, real-world scenarios — from pivot manoeuvers and heading changes to unmooring in worsening weather. They demonstrated strong seamanship, technical expertise, situation awareness and teamwork, essential to a safe and effective emergency response at sea.
Thank you HWCG, SCI, SMIT Salvage, and Riben Marine for the collaboration and commitment to safety and excellence.
Strengthening Partnerships: AET Hosts New Chief Executive of Singapore’s Maritime Agency
On 30 July 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Ang Wee Keong, recently appointed Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), to our global headquarters in Singapore.
The visit offered a meaningful opportunity to deepen dialogue on our ongoing collaboration with MPA — spanning decarbonisation, digital innovation, and talent development. From advancing future fuels to investing in the next generation of maritime professionals, our discussions reinforced a shared commitment to shaping a more sustainable and future-ready industry.
Mr Ang also met with colleagues from AET and MISC Marine, gaining firsthand insight into our people and operations. We thank MPA for the continued partnership and wish Mr Ang every success in his new role as Chief Executive.
Supporting Communities at Sea and on Shore
At AET, we’re proud to stand alongside partners who make a difference — whether championing seafarers’ welfare, advancing medical research, or preserving maritime heritage.
In May, we supported the 46th Annual Maritime Gala by the Houston International Seafarers Center (HISC), which provides essential services for visiting seafarers — from local transport to digital connectivity. Since 2007, AET has contributed to the gala in support of HISC’s mission. We also supported the Saudi Petroleum International, Inc. (SPII) 36th Annual Fundraiser Dinner in New York, benefiting the Histiocytosis Association, a global nonprofit supporting patients and families affected by rare histiocytic disorders.
In June, we attended the Grand Reopening Gala of the Houston Maritime Center & Museum. The expanded space will feature exhibits, a Learning Center, and community areas, and we are proud to be recognised on the Wall of Support for our contribution to the Museum, alongside others dedicated to preserving our industry’s heritage and inspiring future learning.
Powered by Teamwork: #AETcares Lighting Up Communities
From June to July 2025, colleagues across AET’s global offices came together to assemble StudentBuddy solar devices – portable, long-lasting solar lights featuring USB charging capabilities that serves as a lifeline for communities where power is scarce and unreliable.
This follows our first effort in 2024, where AET teams assembled 200 JuniorBuddy solar lights – smaller, child-friendly devices designed for basic illumination.
Those lights were sent to Africa and Cambodia, providing clean, sustainable lighting, and replacing harmful energy sources such as kerosene. In places where darkness once meant danger, lost income, or missed learning opportunities, families now have a safer way to study, work and move around after dark.
More than a CSR initiative, this has become a shared experience — one that connects us not only to each other, but to the communities we hope to support.
Introducing AET’s Making Waves Podcast Series!
Our podcast series dives into the voices and stories shaping our company and the maritime industry.
In this special episode, our summer interns take centre stage. They talk about the projects they worked on, how they navigated the corporate world, and the surprising lessons they discovered about work, life and themselves. It’s a candid glimpse into AET’s culture and how we nurture the next generation of maritime talent.
“AET has definitely given us opportunities to put forward our thinking in meetings. We are encouraged to share our thoughts and I think it's good that our views are accepted. Sometimes our ideas are taken on, and sometimes it's not, but it's always good that we are getting feedback,” shared Emily Bell, Management Intern.
