President & CEO's Message

We began 2025 with a move to our new global headquarters in Singapore. Our move marked a new chapter for AET and the MISC Group.

Designed to inspire innovation, collaboration, and a stronger sense of belonging, our new space reflects the way we work today and where we are headed. Seeing everyone settle in and making it their own has been great, and the warm reception by distinguished guests and key industry leaders at our inauguration event reaffirmed our shared commitment to continue #deliveringProgress while shaping a more sustainable future.

The future of maritime is built on the talent we cultivate today and as we look ahead, developing the next generation of maritime leaders remains a key priority. Starting this year, we will sponsor four scholarships and two internships annually through our new partnership with the Singapore Maritime Foundation, strengthening our efforts to cultivate a skilled and diverse workforce that will drive the industry forward.

Attracting and retaining top talent also means fostering a strong workplace culture where people feel valued and empowered. To support this, we have joined the All Aboard Alliance, working with industry leaders to create an environment where talent thrives, and people with different perspectives have the space and opportunity to contribute and drive us forward.

Beyond business, we remain committed to making a meaningful impact in the communities we operate in. Whether it’s supporting underprivileged youth, revitalising community spaces, or caring for seafarers who are the heart of our business, our #AETcares initiatives reflect our belief that corporate success and social responsibility go hand in hand.

Growth and innovation have always been a central theme of our journey and as we continue to grow, we have reimagined our digital presence with the launch of our new website. This refreshed platform better reflects AET’s dynamism, expertise, and dedication to sustainability and maritime decarbonisation. I encourage you to explore our new digital home and see how we are evolving to meet the changing needs of our industry as part of the MISC Group.

As we stand on the cusp of another promising year, we will move forward with purpose, embodying an enterprise mindset, a spirit of collaboration, and a commitment to continue #deliveringProgress.

Thank you for your continued support in our journey.

Best regards,
Zahid Osman
AET President & CEO

We’ve Moved, Now it’s Official – Our New Chapter Begins!

Exciting beginnings call for a special celebration. On 25 February 2025, we inaugurated our new AET headquarters at Labrador Tower – a space designed to inspire innovation, enhance teamwork, and foster a culture of excellence and belonging.

We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests, and key industry leaders including:

  • Mr Murali Pillai, Minister of State, Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Law
  • YBhg Dato' Dr. Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, and
  • Mr Teo Eng Dih, Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)

Together with Datuk Abu Huraira, AET Chairman, and Zahid Osman, AET President & CEO and MISC President & Group CEO, they officiated our ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the start of our exciting new chapter.

A lion dance and drum performance ignited the evening with auspicious energy, symbolising prosperity and new beginnings.

In his welcome address, Zahid Osman reflected on AET’s journey and the importance of this milestone, “This office is more than just a new workspace—it’s a reflection of our ambition, collaboration, and resilience. Here, we will build on our legacy, forge new partnerships, and continue delivering progress towards our decarbonisation and 2050 net zero goals as part of the MISC Group.”

Guest of Honour Mr Murali Pillai delivered a commemorative address before guests embarked on an exclusive tour of our new workspace, experiencing firsthand the dynamic and collaborative environment we have created.

A special highlight was a live video feed of Eagle Varna, anchored at the Western Holding anchorage, where our office looks out to. Seeing our seafarers wave from the decks reinforced the connection between our shore teams and those at sea – an embodiment of our teamwork and shared commitment to #deliveringProgress.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey – this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey of growth and innovation.

AET Joins the All Aboard Alliance

AET has signed the All Aboard Alliance, joining a growing community of maritime leaders dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and fostering a more innovative and sustainable industry.

As a signatory we will:

  • actively participate in the Alliance’s community to identify and address industry-wide diversity challenges and develop impactful strategies,
  • and support  transformation across the maritime value chain.

Signing the All Aboard Alliance marks an important step in our journey toward fostering greater DEI as we aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute. This initiative aligns with our broader efforts to support the industry’s transformation, and enhances our ability to attract and retain diverse talent while fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration at AET.

#AETcares: Giving Back to Our Communities

We are committed to making a positive impact through our #AETcares initiatives — whether it is empowering youth, supporting seafarers, fighting food insecurity, or revitalising community spaces.

In Rio, we partnered with Dream Learn Work (DLW) to introduce students to a variety of career paths and demystify both the corporate world and the maritime industry through a career workshop. We also celebrated their achievements at DLW’s graduation event, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing future talent.

Meanwhile, our Houston and Galveston colleagues participated in the HISC Christmas Shoebox programme, raising funds and donating essential items to bring holiday cheer to seafarers. We contributed 48 shoeboxes to the over 9,900 distributed at the Port of Houston, ensuring seafarers felt appreciated during the festive season.

We also joined forces with United Way of Greater Houston to fight food insecurity. Our US colleagues volunteered at BakerRipley House, packing and distributing fresh produce to 147 families in need, demonstrating the power of collective action in supporting local communities.

In Singapore, six of our colleagues helped to revitalise the gym at VOX @ Singapore Children’s Society by installing new equipment and refreshing the space to create a more welcoming environment for youth. This initiative encourages young people to stay active and build confidence in a safe and supportive setting.

Through #AETcares, we remain committed to supporting our communities and look forward to creating more meaningful opportunities to make a positive difference.
