It was an afternoon of high energy and enthusiasm when 15 AET staff volunteers and 35 youth members from VOX @ Children's Society came together for a time of fun and sport on 22 April 2025. This follows our gym refurbishment project in December 2024.
They bonded over a lively sports fiesta, and played street soccer, badminton, and snooker.
Commenting on their participation, Natalie Foong, Intern, Commercial - Asset Management, and Tan Chee Nam, Senior Executive, Tenders & Contracts, both found the experience meaningful. Said Chee Nam: "It was great seeing the youth members at VOX banding together and enjoying the facilities sponsored by AET. It really gave us the assurance that we contributed to something meaningful."
Said Chee Thow Wei Liat, Deputy Director, Head of VOX: "With the refurbishment of the VOX gym, we noticed more youth members have started using our gym. The AET team also curated a sports carnival for our youth members, which was very well organised and engaging. Big thanks to AET on behalf of the VOX team and our youth members!"
Children's Society's youth drop-in centres provide a safe and supportive haven for youth aged 13 to 18, empowering them through a range of dynamic programmes based on positive youth development.
"Under our #AETcares initiative, we want to engage purposefully in the communities that we work and live in, and our afternoon at VOX was one way of doing that. It was a highly enjoyable and meaningful time. Singapore Children's Society is a long-standing community partner for AET, and we are glad we were able to spend time with its youth members. I was personally very touched that a youth member took the time to design and produce a memento just for us," said Winnie Cruz-Ding, AET's Chief Financial Officer who spent the afternoon at the Children's Society VOX facility.
