Our US team recently participated in several career fairs — bringing together representatives from HR, Finance, and Offshore to connect with students in New York, Galveston, and Houston.
In March 2025, we visited The State University of New York Maritime College (SUNY Maritime College) and Texas A&M Galveston, two of the oldest and largest maritime schools in the country.
For some of our team members, returning to their alma mater was especially meaningful as they got to reconnect with faculty, engage with students, and share more about their career journeys at AET.
Sheldon Graham, Senior LSV Operator said, “Representing AET at the Texas A&M Galveston career fair as an alum is a full-circle moment. It is an opportunity to give back to the University by sharing real-world insights with current students, ultimately helping bridge the gap between education and industry.”
On 1 April 2025, we participated in The Texas Job Fair, one of the state’s largest college career events, organised annually by the Houston Area Consortium of Career Centers in collaboration with 13 universities across the Houston area. This event brought together students from a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds, offering us the chance to build new connections and raise awareness of career opportunities in maritime.
That same day, we also took part in Career Day at the Galveston Naval Museum — a new initiative aimed at introducing high school students to a variety of career paths in maritime. More than 170 students attended, many learning about maritime careers for the first time. It was a chance to inspire the next generation and showcase opportunities they may not have previously considered.
Julia Oppenheimer, HR Associate said, “Attending the Texas Career Fair was a great way to meet and interact with a diverse group of potential employees. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to speak with so many young, enthusiastic students eager to learn about opportunities in our industry. Events like these help us broaden our outreach, connect with potential future talent, and share what makes AET a meaningful place to grow a career.”
